Since I've covered the rest of my jewelry I decided I should share how I store my necklaces as well. I have been organizing them like this for years and found it is the only way to keep them stored that allows you to grab the one you want quickly without having to sort through them all and also prevents them from getting tangled together. In a previous room where I had the sliding door type closet and wasn't able to keep them like I do now, I placed them behind my door so when it was opened it didn't appear to look cluttered. I tend to put all the short, small ones closer together on the top and but the longer or bulkier ones more spaced out at the bottom.
