*Room Decor* DIY Bulletin Board

A great way to stay organized and keep up with a busy schedule is having a bulletin board. If your going back to school or just trying to keep up with everyday life, having this allows you to easily see what tasks you need to complete that day and what upcoming appointments and events you have throughout the month. You can purchase these in stores but I wanted mine to fit my needs perfectly and be a bit more personalized. You can easily customize your own to fit your needs or unique style but this is what I did to create mine... =]

Step 1. You'll need a piece of poster board the size you'd like your bulletin board to be. I purchased a black one and painted the design on myself but you could leave it a solid color or decorate it however you'd like. I also took teal sequins and created a border around it for a little extra sparkle!

Step 2. DIY magnet board. I think this is great to use for quick memos, pictures of inspiration, lists, or anything you can think of. To make this you'll need a baking sheet ( I purchased mine at the dollar tree. It doesn't have to be fancy, just magnetic), paint of your choosing ( I used an acrylic mint paint but any color acrylic or spray paint will work perfectly, a few magnets, and glitter or anything else you'd like to use to personalize the magnets ( I used black glitter). All you have to do is give the baking sheet a few coats of the paint of choice and use Modge Podge to adhere the glitter to the magnets. Super simple and SUPER cute!

Step 3. If your like me then you always have a To-Do list. I knew I wanted to incorporate a section for this but I wanted to make it myself. To do this I took an old scrap notebook and removed a few sheets of the paper. I cut them to a shape that I liked for this type of list. I had some zebra print tape lying around so I decided to add this to the top of each sheet to give it a decorative touch and then in a font that I liked wrote the title at the top. To attach it to the board in a way that would make it easy to change the papers I put a tac through one side of a binder clip and attached it to the bulletin board.

Step 4. I always have a planner in my purse that is focused more on weekly schedules but I like to have a monthly calendar in my room to see the most important events, appointments, and things that I need to remember. I just took a piece of paper, measured out the lines, and used a sharpie to give it a bolder look. I also enjoy using different colored pens for different categories (ex. Pink is reminders, green is my workout schedule, blue is my work schedule, etc)

Step 5. I had this pencil holder that I wasn't using and because of the holes on it I thought it would a great finishing touch for my bulletin board. Once again I stuck several tacs through the holes and into the wall to secure it. Having this makes it easy to keep the different pens you need to stay organized easily accessible.

I hope this was helpful for you and that you try this project out and make it your own. I think there's a lot of fun things that could be done with this idea!! Have a wonderful day everyone!!

Peace <3
